Continue reading “Finding peace in the kitchen”Hey pals, it’s been a while. I wish I had more of an excuse for my absence, but essentially, my MA is ruling my life and the majority of my free time has either been spent binging Peaky Blinders or tackling my Goodreads 2019 challenge. Add to that list a heck ton of sleep, and that’s essentially all I’ve been doing since Christmas.
Continue reading “Masters / Making a mini magazine”I realise most people will be reading this post thinking ‘wait, didn’t you get home ages ago?!’ Technically yes: I got home almost two weeks ago. I guess I’ve just been putting off writing this post for a while.
Hey lovely people!
Last week saw me embark on my last proper trip of my year abroad, spending the weekend with my friend Celia in Madrid. Celia and I met during my second year of university when she was an Erasmus student at Birmingham, and we’ve been trying to work out time to see each other all year. After missing each other the weekend she visited Zaragoza (which just so happened to be my weekend in Milan), we finally managed it. I took an early coach to the capital and there I was.
Hola, my lovelies.
Last weekend myself and my chiquis went for a trip to San Sebastián, a town in the Basque Country in the north of Spain. For me, this trip was definitely something to look forward to, mainly as after 8 months living in Spain, I was finally going to the beach! I know, I don’t know how I’ve managed it either. We all took the train on Friday morning from Delicias, checking into our hostel a cheeky 6 minutes walk from the station, before going off to explore in search of the sights and food. We were told before we went that San Seb was famous for its tapas, and they were not wrong in the slightest; it was incredible.
So in the space of a week or so, I was able to reunite with two of my favourite people. Firstly, a long bank holiday weekend away in Milan to visit my best friend Harriet, before a visit from the wonderful Verity – she travelled 7 hours by car to get to Zaragoza! That’s what I call dedication. Since it’s been such a packed week or so, I thought I’d give you the lowdown on the blog, as is the norm by now.
If you’ve read my latest year abroad post, you’ll know that the last couple of months have been really busy what with university and visits and Easter. Due to this, I had no time for last month’s roundup, but here’s a double whammy of March and April for you.
Hola chiquitos! Since my last post a lot of things have happened. Jack visited Zaragoza, I went home for Easter, spent a considerable amount of time at the doctors’ and in airports, and last week I returned to Spain for my final ten weeks here. It’s amazing how quickly the last (almost) 8 months have passed – it’s not long until I do my next and final lot of exams and leave for good! I’m just as surprised, as I imagine some of you are reading this, that I’ve got to this point and am still here, so pat on the back for me.
